couldn't we just elect Al Gore again?

thing #7

i'm kind of uneven when it comes to new technologies.  like, no dishwasher.  and no cable.  and no ipod.  but i like my digital camera and my ibook.  and that sexy new yaris parked out on the street.  technology is cool, but expensive.

thing #6

flickr? where have you been all my life? i used this to find neat pictures based on drawings. then i used flickr favorites to collect them. then i used this to make a mosaic. rad.

thing #5

i am uploading a picture from my flickr account. i tried to use the "blog this" tool on flickr and it worked ok. but, i had less control over customizing the look of the post so i didn't really like it. i'd rather go into my blog first and upload a photo using the url. so that's what i did. thing #5 also suggested to find a flickr photo i like and to blog about it. there are photos i like on flickr by other people, but i didn't want to post those on my blog. that just feels weird, since i have so many of my own photos that i like. so here is the beast adia, my friend ashhole's pup. this was taken a few years back, and he is getting ready for a brushing. oh, and thing #5 also suggested uploading photos from around my library branch. but why would you want to see Northside when you could look at this beast?

is it fall yet?
black and shriveled tomato hornworm.  you can kind of see how the wasp eggs opened up.  this was the best picture i could get before my camera battery died.  when i went out to find it again, it had fallen off and i couldn't find it.  so i know it is balanced on a branch, ready to fall on my hand when i'm picking tomatoes.

when i saw this tomato hornworm with parasitic wasp eggs on it, i thought it was the most cool/disgusting thing i ever saw in our backyard.  then we saw the squirrel with a dead chipmunk in its mouth.  and i thought that was the most cool/disgusting thing i had ever seen in our backyard.  and then i saw the dead hornworm after the parasitic wasps had eaten out its insides and flown away.  i should have a picture of that soon.

the domestication of the dog and
the wilco obsession continue unabated.

things 1 through 4:

i watched the 7 & 1/2 habits tutorial. it was too slow and i had to turn off the sound of the person reading the words. going at your own pace is important. play is the easiest. teach/mentor others is the hardest. i like to keep things to myself unless someone asks. then i'll share.
